MICRORAPTORIA is a partnership between a short human and a tiny (but still tough) plush T-Rex (Hans). Great things come in small packages. Between them, these two writers and content creators have over 65 million years of writing experience. Give or take.
Simon Taylor
Simon is a Queensland-based writer and content creator celebrating the recent release of his best-selling Audible Original Podcast Series, ‘Beyond Strange Lands’. He has worked in development with a number of Australian production companies including Like a Photon Creative and Freshwater Pictures and was honoured to be part of the International Emmy award-winning team on ‘Doodles’ (LUDO Studio). As well as developing a diverse slate of multiplatform projects (with development support from Screen Queensland and Screen Australia), Simon teaches screenwriting at Griffith Film School and hosts an annual Writer’s Development Lab at the Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival. As a lifelong Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder sufferer, Simon channels his unique experiences into his work and acts as an advocate for mental health awareness. He recently appeared in season 6 of ‘You Can’t Ask That’ and is currently working on two novels.
Hans
Hans doesn’t remember when he was born… sometime in the late Cretaceous period. After 65 million years it really doesn’t matter. The point is: he’s been around a while and knows a thing or two about story telling. He was Aristotle’s drinking buddy and was betrayed by a fame hungry Homer. Twice! The bastard stole Hans’ first draft of the Iliad and the Odyssey. Shakespeare’s dark secret is that Hans ghost wrote his plays. Don’t worry humans, he didn’t write those horrible sonnets - that was all the Bard. Jane Austen and Agatha Christie proved to be better writing partners, so did H.G. Wells. Together he and Wells penned some of history’s greatest science fiction stories. Hans now lives with Simon, helping him deal with OCD and writing up a storm. They are a good team and he’s happy to finally tell dinosaur related stories. Oh! Hans is a huge fan of Netflix and other streaming services - humanities greatest gifts to the world.
